The Israel Government Tourist Corporation (IGTC) is the executive agent of the Ministry of Tourism for the implementation of its policy for infratructure development.
The IGTC is a “budgeted government corporation” and its budget is defined in the budget law. Its actions are supervised by a board of directors through various committees, e.g., budget and balance, tenders, planning and administration. The IGTC is a four branch company. The planning division is in charge of initiating and planning projects. The operations division is in charge implementing them. The budget department has the responsibility for organising the budget for each project. The treasury is in charge of the cash flow. All the branches participate in defining the program for each project. The corporation works in close contact with other public agencies and with central and local government, thus extending the direct development budgets allocated by the Ministry of Finance, forwarded to the development of touristic infrastructure.
